Pioneer Day Cake Decorating Contest

Put those decorating and cake-making skills to the test. If you think you have what it takes to have your cake and eat it too, submit a cake to the PIoneer Day cake Decorating contest. We will have two categories you can enter. The first one is our professional category for those who make cakes and sell them for money. The second is our Novice category; this is for the everyday cake joe. There is no age limit.

The entry is $10 per cake, paid at the time of registration. 1st to 3rd Place Prizes will be awarded for each category. The event is Sponsored by Dresback Law.

Rules for the Contest: 

  • Theme: Year of the Tiger; all entries must reflect this theme

  • Drop off Location: Classic County Coffee Shop

  • Drop off between 10:30 am and noon on September 24th. 

  • All entries (INCLUDING cake board) must fit within a 28” X 28” space

  • Entries must be made of real cake or cake substitutes (such as cereal bars). Styrofoam dummies are not allowed. 

  • All entries must be completely edible. Entries, including decorations, must be 100% edible except for columns, supports, wires, and stamens. No ribbons or other non‐edible decorations will be permitted. 

  • Any basic cake that fits within the theme and size limitations is acceptable. Cakes can be stacked or tiered. Multiple-tier cakes are encouraged but not necessary. Shaped or carved cakes, 2‐D, or 3‐D cakes and sculptures are allowed. Any sugar media or technique may be used. 

  • Electricity is not available for entries. Table dressing, such as decorative fabrics, is allowed beneath the cakes but must fit within the space allotted.

  • A panel of judges will judge the entries, and winners will be announced on Pioneer Day. 

  • If participants wish, they may donate their cake to The Main Street Association to be auctioned off to help raise money for future events. A Tax deductible receipt can be given for any donations made.
